Recipe: Creamy Tomato Basil Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of your choice of pasta (like penne or spaghetti)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the cherry tomatoes to the pan and cook for about 2 minutes until they start to soften.
  4. Lower the heat and add the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese to the pan, stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce is heated through.
  5. Drain the pasta and add it to the sauce in the pan. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated.
  6. Stir in the chopped basil and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
